Habit : A small, very quick growing tree. Leaves : Impari pinnate, leaflets oblong, blunt at apex, covered with fine hairs, black spotted below, deciduous in winter when the tree flowers. Flowers : Flowers on long branches with pinkish purple or pale pink clusters. Calyx lobed. Corolla with large, erect, backward curving standard, 2 sickle-shaped wings and an incurving keel-petal. Fruit : Pod long, flat. Flowering and Fruiting Time : February-April Significance : Cultivated in the gardens as an ornamental tree.
