Habit : A twining herb. Leaves : Imparipinnate, stipules linear, leaflets 5 - 7, elliptic, oblong, obtuse. Inflorescence : Axillary. Flowers : Bracteate, bracteolate, calyx big, tubular, corolla bright or light blue or white, standard large, emarginated, wings oblong, keel incurved. Fruits : Pods, flattened, sharply beaked, 6 - 10 seeded. Flowering and Fruiting time : July - January Significance : Common in hedges everywhere. Seeds are given as laxative for children.
