Habit : A small tree, young shoots greenish-white. Leaves : Unifoliate with pellucid oil glands, petioles winged. Inflorescence : Cyme Flower : Pure white in small clusters. Stamens 20-30, polyadelphous. Ovary on a disc, 8-many chambered, style big and thick, stigma capitate. Fruit : Globose, rind thick, tightly adherent, pulp yellow, fairly sweet, seeds poly-embryonic. Flowering and Fruiting Time : More or less throughout year. Significance : It is one of the most valued commercial citrus. The fruit is very nutritious and highly esteemed as a desert fruit for vitamin C. It purifies blood, allays thrust in fevers and improves appetite.
